After the Rain

After the rain throughout yesterday and all night, sunshine this morning - AND, when I looked out of the window to where P and S were on the path outside, S was standing, walking, sniffing quite normally!! Walking in a straight line, no wobbles, no hint of his hind legs not being under control, no falling over!! The vet had said that the neurological condition would pass but we hadn't expected such a dramatic change after a second 24 hours of sleeping almost continuously, apart from enforced toilet & food breaks.

To celebrate, we took him for a walk through Strid Woods and down to the river, a couple of miles altogether (see extra). After all the rain, the river at "The Strid" was living up to its reputation of being one of the most dangerous stretches of water around, thundering and churning through the bottleneck between the rocks. The main Blip gives some idea of the force - I certainly didn't dare to go down to the rocks I'd stood on to take the image I posted a couple of days ago!

We've now moved to a different campsite near Grassington - perhaps not quite as pretty but at least it has a good phone signal, so maybe I'll start catching up on Blip. The weather looks good for a couple of days so, all being well, we'll at least get some short walks in as S continues to recover.
