A day in the life

Moonrise

My morning became a bit turbulent, since I had an appointment with my hairdresser. I got to bed far too late yesterday and I was a sleepy when I got up a bit too late, and had a shower to wake me up. To make it short, I slipped on the soapy bathroom floor, fell backwards and hit the back of my head against the floor. Luckily, there was a small rug right there to take some of the force out of the blow. I was a bit shaken by how little it takes to have an accident that might change your life and it has somewhat affected my day.  Only yesterday my neighbour and me talked about what could happen if something happens to one of us, we both live alone and it can be days before either of us speak to anyone. It might be time to work out some sort of routine.

At least I look ok again after having my hair cut and later I took a trip to the recycling station to chuck away some junk clogging up my cellar.

I went for a walk at The Grove, a walk of about 4 kilometres, and the dusk was upon me. The almost full moon was on its way up over the treetops and I looked for the Atlas-comet, that was supposed to be visible in the southwest but clouds had risen high over the horizon so I missed it. Drat, now I have to wait at least another 80 thousand years to see it again.

Things like that put life and our existence in different perspective.
