Stuff and Nonsense

Snipe

Up and out at 9am and on our way home in the sunshine. We broke our journey by stopping off at RSPB Leighton Moss for lunch and a bit of a wander.
Too late in the day and a bit windy for bearded tits although we did hear them a couple of times. Not really much about today apart from loads of coots at the causeway hide that had been displaced due to reed cutting at Lillian's hide.
On the way to our last hide we heard some very loud bellowing from a Red Deer stag and I was hopeful that this would be my blip today.
There were at least two stags bellowing but neither of them would show themselves despite sounding very close behind the reeds. In the end, after waiting for ages, we gave up.
Luckily this lovely Snipe popped up and stood on this mound for a couple of minutes so takes centre stage today.
Back home now and the laundry is already well under way :)
