Red Bishop Bird

The breeding season is here and the males are showing off their colours.
My bird tray at the moment is like a colourful restaurant.
I am trying to sort through my vast number of photos from my trip - it's going to take time. Many of the photos were taken by daughter Penni with her latest iPhone - the colours and quality are amazing.
I will back blip and try to fill in the gaps.
I have been doing a lot of sleeping - my long journey home caught up with me.
I have had two sad phone calls - both to my golfing friends. My one friends daughter, her only child, was killed in a car accident in Detroit at the beginning of my holiday - this tragedy sat with me often while I was away. Then yesterday I learnt of another golfing friend, who at the age of 65 has been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer  - in both lungs. This is hard to digest, as she is a dear friend with such a zest for life.
One needs to enjoy every day, we don't know what life has in store for us....
On a happier note, two of our grandkids celebrate birthday's today Matt in Cape Town who turns 28, and our youngest grandchild, Alexis in Canada who is turning 6. We enjoyed lovely  calls with both of them
