Still blooming
For now. Friday night looks like it will get down to about 30 F and everything may get frozen. I walked over to the park to dump my offerings for the compost at Feeding Laramie Valley. I walked around to the front and was happy to see they have harvested a lot of the veggies. Then I noticed their big bed of beautiful mint. I was wondering if they were going to harvest it and I decided to ask someone. I popped the door open and the big room was full of people in a meeting... Oops!! Someone I know came out to talk to me and she said it was fine if I took some mint. I love to stick it in a paper bag and let it dry for tea.
I also walked by a neighbor's yard and realized they have a regular apple tree, not just a crabapple tree. The yard is full of the dropped apples and there are still some on the tree. I'm going to ask Jim if he knows who lives there. I'd love to get some of the apples before it freezes. I can't believe they haven't harvested any of them. A true apple tree here in Laramie is a special thing.
