Desk
The pleasure of having office-mates continues. PhD student Y was in when I arrive, but soon went off to her class, and I supervised my undergraduate project student. During the hour, two guys came to install the standing desk that I'd ordered for Y, and had put it together by the time she returned. She was happy, but immediately pointed out (reasonably) that she'll need an office chair and a monitor. Another bonus of having the PhD students around is their company at lunch, which was the next event.
In the afternoon I got stuck into programming, and was pleased to learn from PhD student B that he'd found a house to rent for him and his partner to share. So he's settling...
Back home, I made fish pie, and was glad that I'd made the necessary mashed potatoes last night. Afterwards, I attended the fortnightly evening meeting, which is now at 20:00 because summer time has started in New Zealand. I'd never thought about the volatility of the time difference with southern hemisphere countries that also have summer time! I then did a bit more work before settling in to watch Foyle's War.
