Mum

I had a phone call from Mums care home at 9am to say Mum was poorly again. I was having a lie in after the last two days with little sleep.
It was very wet & foggy on the way there & I arrived just after 10am but had missed the Dr.
Mum is unresponsive but comfortable on a special mattress & has oxygen to keep her SATs up & a pain patch because she’s not having her usual Oramorph & could experience withdrawal symptoms.
The Dr had given her an antibiotic but phoned me to say that she didn’t think Mum could come through this time. Mum has bounced back from several of these infections but she’s weaker after each one & at 93 she’s tired.
I spent the day at her bedside & then my sister came to take over, I’ll go back first thing tomorrow if I don’t get a call overnight.
