Back to the greenhouse
Not a lot of time today, several Hospice drives and major computer work. However I managed to return to the greenhouse with the little Sony to get more practice with it. Still not got focus right on closeups but for holiday pics I don't think that will be a problem.
I have a very bad habit. I take hundreds of photos, download them onto my computer, find the best and use it on Blip and then just save all the others. This is the way I have always done it and I end up with a totally clogged up computer. This happened in 2018 when I bought an external hard drive and downloaded all my pictures to it. That drive is now full and I have more than 3 years supply of pictures on my lap top that has now waved a white flag and almost given up working.
Yesterday a new external hard drive was delivered, 6TB's (that means its a lot I think). Yesterday it did not work. Yesterday I was seriously not happy. Today it worked, I am happy again. It is very quick 3 years pictures transferred with no trouble, I seem to take and save somewhere between 10,000 and 12,000 per annum . Several other odd files have also been moved. Currently it is working on a file called "All Sorts of Stuff" which is huge (50,000+) and I don't really know what these are.
I know I should organise myself better, delete the pictures I don't want to keep, the vast majority of those I take. I have told Wife1 that I will sort out all the old ones and get rid of the dross.
I am going to turn over a new leaf and be a more disciplined picture taker. The only thing is there is still lots of space available on the new hard drive and it would be a shame to waste it so I might not start just yet.
