A Glasgow Boy

Here’s the statue of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, which was unveiled on St. Vincent Street, Glasgow on the 90th anniversary of his death on 10 December 2018. The sculpture is Andy Scott, who also designed  the Kelpies (Falkirk), the DunBear (Dunbar), the Witches (Prestonpans)  and Arria (Cumbernauld), amongst many others.

I was over in Glasgow having lunch with my friend Deb, who is currently having chemotherapy for cancer. She’s so brave and continues to fight the disease with stoicism, as well as good humour.

The journey back was not as easy as it could be, as the slip road onto the M8 was closed and the diversion was not the easiest or fastest, with a lot of cars queuing up to get onto the motorway.

Here’s hoping you have had a good day.
