Hubris

A few weeks ago there was, apparently, a flurry of conversations on the local socials about a nest of hornets on the dead canal. And some warning signs appeared.
I made sure to be alert as I passed the danger area. But nothing happened. I relaxed. Until today when one of the buggers stung me on the top of my head. It REALLY hurt!
And, by the time I got home and had a shower, I started itching and rashing all over.

Clare had carefully hidden any anti-histamines that she had so I had to go to Boots. After a period of feeling horrible- the reaction? The anti-histamines? All was fine again.
