DDW's July Challenge - by Anniemay - "An Opening"

Every coast dweller will know these beautiful things, even though it's rare to find a complete one. I used to have bucketsful of them after diving, but only sometimes find one at the beach now, and then it's usually just fragments.

A long day. My grandfather's had an operation for a heart catheter and has woken up again which is a great relief. I hope he recovers soon and they don't find anything too worrying.
