Today we took a trip to the tip with a car load of recyclables, followed by the afternoon here, working with Y2 & Y3 children looking at the life of St Wilfrid. And then back here in the evening for a lecture by Dr Christopher Tinmouth on the Ripon Cartulary. It’s an ancient document recording the rights of property and privilege used in the enduring power struggles between the Ripon Chapter, Fountains Abbey, local civic authorities and the Archbishop of York.
