Is it Spring?

This little bloom confused me today when I was out walking. Have I just lost 6 months of memory in a flash and it's Spring again? 
Turns out it's an autumn crocus as informed later by horticultural eldest daughter. 
That's a relief, I didn't want to miss Christmas and all the other cosy winter days in between.
