Honeymoon (9)

Another day of thwarted trips. The original plan was Eltham Palace which is open on a Monday. The horror of the bus to Woolwich and walk at the other end changed our plans.

Next we thought we might go to Greenwich Ecology Park... near the river, a nice breeze? No, closed on Monday.

This makes what happened next one of those laugh or cry moments... what else is nearby and on the river... the Flood Barrier. No walk in the heat? Never mind the 1/4 mile walk from the main road (and that would be if you went straight). Arrived, up the steps to the visitor centre. You won't believe it. Closed on Monday.

By now we have given up. We decide to go and have lunch, pick up the patio furniture and come home.

Spent the afternoon waiting for the promised rain and trying (mostly failing) to keep cool.
