Strathearn sunset...
Another beautiful autumn day. The sun on the Japanese maple this morning turned it ruby red. So beautiful. Must bring some twigs and leaves inside.
After lunch we had a visit from a kitchen designer from Howdens. We are creating a proper kitchen for Alan's support workers in the room that has their kitchen in a cupboard, which has served then well, but now that they provide 24 hour care for Alan, they need a proper kitchen and laundry facilities (this means all theirs and Alan's laundry can be done there, rather than using our utility room)
Laura, the designer, was fabulous and understood very quickly what we are hoping to achieve. She says we should have her design at the start of next week. Exciting. Now have to get organised and decide on colour and style (at the moment first choice is white, plain fronted doors. Modern and sleek as it's not a huge room so needs to be bright and unfussy) So many decisions to be made!
Once Laura had gone I made a large pot of beef ragu and turned that into a huge lasagne for our family Halloween dinner on 26th October. It's now happily in the freezer.
It was such a lovely evening we had a wee drive and caught a beautiful sunset.
Home for dinner, some more crochet and chat with friend S in Skye. It's funny not seeing them this October. Their new house is really coming on and they are hoping we will go and visit them in the Spring. I 'm looking forward to that :D
