Mondays
On the right of the Blip is Queensberry House, now part of the Scottish Parliament. It dates from the 17th century. It contains the offices for the Presiding Officer and many of the staff who form the Parliament's secretariat.
On the left is part of the late 20th century development which constitutes most of the Parliament buildings. It contains the MSPs offices, and that part is not open to the public. Almost everything else is.
My shot was taken from the staff canteen on the ground floor. It was closed and empty today. Parliament is in recess, and Mondays are quiet even when it is in session. Staff lunches were available in the MSPs' restaurant.
People will have their own thoughts on the juxtaposition of old and new like that. Context is always important. Before the Scottish Parliament was built, the site was a disused brewery.
All that aside, I had an excellent Monday. Mind you, the start was unusual. I had to scrape ice off my car for the first time this autumn.
