Delhi: Day 2
I've just back-blipped Sunday so for this to make sense, it might be worth reading that first.
I got a reasonably good night's sleep in the hospital, only interrupted a couple of times by nurses wandering in and putting the light on. W didn't get back to sleep after the 3am visit and was woken at 6am for a blood pressure test so we then got up. We were convinced that W's problem on the plane was nothing to do with the fairly serious diagnosis she has recently been given and her new course of tablets, but just a low blood pressure problem probably exacerbated by the flight and food at odd times; certainly, the reading on the plane was very low. All the tests at the hospital which included both heart and brain scans came back negative but they seemed to want to do more tests to see if they could find anything. This would have involved a further night in hospital and we would then have had to find a way to get home, as the tour we are on would have moved on. So we put our foot down and insisted she be discharged today especially as she will be seeing her own doctor on our return. It still took them about four hours to discharge her but the tour operator arranged for us to be collected and taken to the hotel.
The drive was about 80 minutes and quite an eye-opener; imagine 8 lanes of traffic on a four lane road all trying to change lanes at the same time. Not for the faint hearted! We are now at the hotel although we have a very early start in the morning so won't have much time to enjoy it this time, although we are back here again twice on the tour.
The only thing we have really missed is a walking tour of old Delhi, but that was probably the bit I was least bothered about. We've met the rep and got all the details we need and are now finally looking forward to the trip.
We are four and a half hours ahead of UK so my evening blips will probably land around early afternoon at home. And hopefully they will have better shots than this; the view from the hotel window!
