Dusk

Backblip
Slept reasonably well, though woke up often, especially later when there was some heavy rain. The original forcast was rain all night and half of today but fortunately it had changed its mind and started later and soon changed to showery.
This was a good thing as running a hilly half marathon in heavy rain would have been no fun.
We did get 1 short, heavy shower and some even shorter light ones, and the sun came out for some stretches. One of these was just as I was going through a fairly open space with lots of birches around and the colours were amazing. However, I hadn't taken a camera as I prefer to keep running and if I had stopped at that point I might have found it hard to get going again. It was a very undulating course with well over 300m of ascent.
I did run all the way, and overtook a few people in the last 3 - 4 miles, but I did feel the interruption of training due to Covid a few weeks back.
Mr Rat and L faired better and both got 3rd place trophies for the 60+ age group.
We returned to the campsite for soup, burgers and showers (in that order) and later went to Callander to meet more friend for a meal.
This is the view from the carpark, not having got any pics in Aberfoyle as the sun went awol at the relevant time.
