Red berries on a grey day
We took a walk down to our local lake - just a couple of kilometers. Not so unusual but it was Jan's first real walk after breaking her leg. It went well for her. I was using Nordic poles because they help keep the back in balance. It's getting better but still not really letting me forget it's there.
We feel like a pair of old crocks, but getting slightly younger every day!
Later in the day I was doing a few garden chores and found this photo of the rowan berries. This tree had shed all its leaves but the berries are still there.
Spotted my first bull finches of the autumn, feeding on rowan berries, together with forest sparrows and field fares.
Political work this evening, but more holding things together than moving them forward.
I'm enjoying autumn and am happy to let a few more weeks pass before the snow arrives. Even happier with a few more sunny morning to sit outside with a cuppa and watch the birds.
