Great grandma’s chair

I have schlepped this chair half around the world. It must be from the 1850’s and is a Chinese salon chair made from Bamboo.
This morning I discovered that it is rare and worth a lot of money. I wonder how she got it. I know for sure that she never left her home town Lübeck. But she had other Asian decoration pieces in her home.

She died very old in 1952.


This was another good day with the help of prednisone. I managed to get many more boxes unpacked and to organize places in the house where the content of the boxes can go. . Nearly everyday I bring a big box to our local thriftstore and each time with a sigh of relief to have let go more ‚stuff‘!
