Sunday roast
This week’s joint was a half shoulder of lamb and it was really very good. It was accompanied by roast potatoes, roast vegetables and green beans, and followed by strawberries and cream. We enjoyed the lamb today, and it will last us two more days. Although Norman does much of the cooking during the week, I always do the joint on Sunday. He will probably make what he calls “a mess up” , a chopped up concoction, often with the addition of curry powder, served with rice or pasta.
My sister is moving this weekend and I have thought so much about her, and hope everything goes well. We usually have a long phone chat on Sunday mornings, but not today! I look forward to hearing all about the move. I wish I could have helped her, but I expect I would have just got in the way!
