Au Revoir

So it’s good bye from them and it a goodbye to them from me. The Yorkshire family came for coffee this morning before setting off for home. They had spent the night at Prestonfield so could recount their amazing breakfast in detail but judging from 16 year old Ralph’s shut eyes it wasn’t enough to make up for such an early start!!
Daughters #1&2 joined us and we all shared a cinnamon bun such were excesses of the meal yesterday …… and the alcohol too I suspect.

I am finding the sudden quietness of the house a little unnerving but I am pleased that yesterday went down well with everyone and that the cousins caught up with each other.


It’s a typical Autumn day here - sunny but feeling chilly. I’m trying to get my head around dipping again at Porty when it’s so cold and wondering whether a McMuffin at the halfway house of McDonalds on the way home is enough of an incentive.
