Oystercatcher
Yesterday was pretty wild, gusting 50mph and locally here exceeding that swirling around on the deck. The garden furniture was on the move again despite 50kg of sandbags.
I went down to the harbour hoping for some good waves, the wind was freezing but there were locals in shorts and no hats !
I was watching the seagulls walking out on the shore and then just extending their wings to go airborne as a wave came in, no flapping required.
I like the Oystercatcher, it's an urgent sort, scouting about the shoreline with an equally urgent call. The bill is a formidable tool and the oystercatcher make full use of it {extra)
