This'n'That

Useful CAT

First time I've had a walk since Oct. 2! A perfect day to go to Xwaaqw'um. I thought there would be many people enjoying the sun, but I only saw 3 people on the trail and the truck driver on his way to the site where I took these two photos. I wondered if he would ask me what I was doing wandering around taking photos, but he stopped to talk and was very friendly. I couldn't hear what he was saying, so he turned off his truck. He's working with the wetland restoration project, and today he was going to use the equipment to load up his truck and haul away some clay soil. I said that I've always wanted to have a go at driving equipment like that, and he picked up the keys, jingled them teasingly, and said, "Here you go!"  I should have taken him up on the offer. Ha! An incredible amount of work has been done since I last walked there, and I agreed with him when he said that it's going to be an even more amazing place when the work is finished. I enjoyed talking with him.
My niggly injury is on the mend. G suggested that I take it easy, something that neither of us do well. I did though, walked about half the usual distance and strolled rather than pushed myself. Hopefully it will be completely healed by the time Renata and I head to Germany. Can't believe how quickly that's coming up!
