Tiny wild apples

We noticed these wee apples in the hedgerow on the shore path . We thought they were crab apples , but they are a variety of Ellison's Orange apples growing in the wild.

They are quite exquisite- Jim is collecting seed to send to a tree nursery  but we did taste one and kept one to photograph. 
We went to see the family in Irvine  and it was lovely to catch up.
