Sashiko

Spent today at a Sashiko (pronounced Sashiko) workshop in the village hall organised by the SWI. Thoroughly enjoyed learning a new skill. We learnt 3 different kinds each with its own Japanese name which I can’t remember. Everything has to be very precise with the same number of stitches on each matching line. Apparently each stitch should be the length of a grain of rice and the space a third of a grain. We decided long grain was a better measure than pudding rice!
Managed to finish each one - not perfect by any means but not too bad for a first try.
