Jaunty

Here’s the jaunty doll’s beret that Granny finished this morning. I put it on this doll and took it round to the girls, and there was much excitement when they saw what she was wearing on her head. It was immediately removed by L and put on her white bunny, whereupon little H’s face dropped and she looked so sad. I reassured her that I would be making another one straight away, and asked her what colour she’d like. Purple was the reply.

So a purple beret in the next size up has already been started and will hopefully be ready for H tomorrow.

Granny is now investigating dressmaking patterns for dolls’ clothes because she’s got the bit between her teeth. Not the best time to be thinking about it, really, but I simply can’t help myself … and I’ve got a good stash of fabric remnants I can use. Grandpa is highly amused of course.
