FARNE ISLANDS

This is not a photograph of the Bridled Tern we went to the Farne Islands in the hope of seeing. We did see it but the photo I got was not up to much, so instead there are Puffins. Everywhere Puffins, and Terns, and Terns pooing on my hat. That was why I was wearing a hat.

We stayed at a guest house near Alnwick and got a taxi into town in the evening to the restaurant where we had booked a table for dinner. Alnwick was in complete darkness from a power cut, and not likely to be reconnected any time soon. So instead, the very helpful taxi lady took us to a pub in the opposite direction which had power, and the food was, as she said, very good. The downside was the taxi fare, but a grand day all round.
