Northern lights

A lot of people around here have taken pictures of the northern lights the last few days.  I haven't been out at night to try to see them myself, I'd have to drive out of the city lights.  But this picture was taken by my cousin who lives in Mississippi--Mississippi! Far south, right on the Gulf of Mexico.  It's amazing that the northern lights have been visible so far south several times this year.  I can't help but think that the solar winds and flares affect our climate more than anything man can do.
