In The Wood

We shared Hamilton wood with my favourite family of Roe deer this morning. They crossed our path several times in a pretty relaxed way, glancing at us, but not panicked. I thought this might be the day that I got close enough to capture a shot of them, but it’s difficult to creep around on a bed of fallen leaves! I could hear them moving around and I’m sure they could hear me, with just a row of gorse bushes separating us. I was happy to see the buck’s limp isn’t so pronounced. It was barely noticeable in fact.
We also saw a grey squirrel run down a tree and onto the path in front of us. It was so surprised by us I could almost see the “Oops” speech bubble above its head. It very quickly headed back up the same tree.
