Oh, How I Wish I Wasn't Retired . . .

   Then I could have the pleasure in phoning in sick.

Sunday - Monday; very runny nose and beginnings of a sore throat.
Monday - Tuesday; the coughing begins with bouts of sneezing.
Wednesday; the cough is worse. Sides are aching. Head feels like it's going to burst. Throat is like sandpaper despite liberal doses of honey and lemon drinks.

   I have a steam generator in my loft and have been using it this week but nothing seems to shift this cough.

Thursday; got a doctors appointment and walked away with a prescription for some antibiotics.

It's now Friday and I believe the antibiotics are kicking in. Got a really good nights sleep night. The cough seems to be lifting. My sides and chest aren't quite as sore when I cough or sneeze.

If I wasn't retired I'd have called in sick on this one. One of the joys of retirement I guess.
