What a day…..

Up at 6:15, travelled with a friend to Hounslow underground, travelled the length (nearly) of and Piccadilly line and a coutesey bus to reach our destination of the Knitting & Stitching show at Alexandra Palace.
A workshop ,on feathers and flowers was attended - thank you Kitey.
After lunch a last look around the stalls before making our way home. (Photos of an owl statue at 2ood Green station; fabulous winning quilt;  one of the stall holders (Becky) and Kitey.

Lace meeting tonight - our speaker, Sarah, who is a Heritage conserver.  She spoke to,us last year about care for textile treasures and we invited her back to talk about her “research into a surviving late 18th /early 19th century account book belonging to a tailor in Christchurch, Dorset (then Hampshire).  It's a fascinating account of men's fashion of the time and the wonderful and varied customers he serve”.  A fabulous talk and she also had with her a waistcoat made around 1806 - it was fabulous (see extra).
