End of an era

Another busy day. Curling coaching started back this morning and it seemed so strange without Meg. Meg has been coaching for around 50 years and has decided now is the time to stop. She was the one who got me into coaching when she asked me to help out on Thursdays. I still, and always will, think of these as Meg's coaching sessions. She must have coached thousands of people over the years and received a richly deserved British Empire Medal for services to curling. She is a legend and I'll really miss her on Thursdays.

This evening was my club's opening bonspiel. My team finished on a fairly respectable score of zero. Not as bad as it sounds given 2 teams ended on -9 and the winners were +13.

This photo was one I took earlier today in Hamilton. There are lots of these sculptures around the town. I did take some phone shots of the aurora tonight but they were very grainy and by the time I got my camera out it was almost gone.
