Auroras in Hudds

Ok so I swapped the photo. Again.

It was an amazing hour with what was maybe a very bright Steve - Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement.

The evening started with pale auroras - really only visible through a long exposure (isn't it great that this is now so accessible, and doesn't require going to remote, dark, isolated places at night - something not feasible for most people....) but I wandered out again at 10pm expecting little and saw the red glow, very visible to the naked eye, and moving around the sky. It was joyous being able to share the experience in real-time too, something that would previously have been impossible, meaning even more people get to hear what's going on and to experience it too. It is a perfect combination of nature and technology.
