Storm at Sea Off the Norwegian Coast

The full description is in the extra. Painted by Andreas /Achenbach in 1837.

Today has been a long day. The taxi collected me at 0730 and off to Heathrow to catch a flight to Frankfurt. I took an earlier flight than strictly necessary so that I could have an afternoon (in the rain as it turned out) of doing "something". I confess that i was low in confidence having not been on a semi work trip for a long time and I speak no German. At all. Thus I am ashamed to say that I was heavily reliant on the knowledge that all Germans have perfect English.

I arrived late lunchtime, popped my bags in my hotel room and set off for the Staedel Museumon the bank of the Mein (not the Rhine as I wrongly assumed). https://www.staedelmuseum.de/en/ A bonus as I discovered that they have a Tuesday afternoon special where tickets are 9 Euros instead of 16. It's a lovely gallery and they had a special exhibition of women painters which was great. My favourite painting however was this one here.

By the time my friend/ colleague, Jill picked me up to go to dinner, I had managed 1 train journey, 1 Underground and 2 tram. Visited an art gallery, had a walk along the Rhine and not got lost. This was quite adventurous for me and help me get my confidence back (at least more than 50%). Hurray
