White morning in Akureyri

Today we saw the first awful white morning of winter in the town of Akureyri. Those who've read my journal in the past know I really - REALLY - hate the snow and all those long cold and dark months of winter in Iceland. 
At 10 o'clock it had gotten more intense and we now have a proper heavy snowfall, see extra photo. 
Here's some interesting information about the science of snow. 
 
Loðvík was rather reluctant to go outside the door when he saw this cold stuff on the ground, but after a bit of hesitation he decided to go for it.
