Le Louvre

First full day in Paris and we headed off to the Louvre - or more specifically, about 20% or less of Le Louvre as it's massive.

Rather than going during the day, when it was likely to be mobbed, we headed round in the evening about 6.30 or so and it was still busy, but not too intimidating.

Paris Museum Pass was a great help as it meant we could avoid the ticket queues.

Other than that, we had a lie in, visited the Pompidou centre for a touch of modern art, then had a lovely lunch before sitting in the Luxembourg gardens whilst some american college band did their thing - all very civilised.

Unlike the food poisoning brought on by the late night pizza...
