We made the most of the nice morning weather with a bike ride and shopping. The extra was going to be my main, until I noticed this modern structure in front of the 11th. century castle mound. Said castle didn't seem to last very long, being described in 1542 "There be manifest ruines of a great castelle at the north west side of the towne a litle beneath the toun bridge, and a peace of the dungeon yet standeth." When it was excavated in 1975, 105 early medieval graves, predating the castle, were found.
2nd extra: Just as the Bomb dropped, and the shattered aircraft plunged to ground, John realised this was not the best time to go for a widdle.
Many thanks to Steveng for hosting.
