My companion for the day
I felt a bit poorly today - achy and shivery. Bad enough to miss my shift at Fareshare this morning. And it rained all day, at times drizzle, but then with periods where it was a deluge. It’s our recycling and wheelie bin collection today - I felt so sorry for the people working on this service. Outside getting soaked all day - not to mention smelly food bins.
My companion for the day was Portia - she seemed quite excited that I was home the whole time, and was busy trying to keep me amused. In the collage:
Jumping on me and purring when I couldn’t sleep in the night - she had just come in from the garden, and not only was she wet, she had a slug entangled in her fur…..
Then she thought she could make me laugh by sitting on the toaster - something she’s never done before
Followed by sitting on the checklist of tasks I’d written for myself for the day, which was so thoughtful of her, as it meant I couldn’t do any:)
Finally she decides to stand in the apples - the last ones which I’m putting, cooked down, into the freezer. She managed to walk across them without knocking any onto the floor - an incredible skill, though admittedly not a particularly useful one
Later in the day, I sat in my chair with my wonderful new electric heated blanket on my lap. It’s fantastic. So you know where she was then:) I spend a couple of pleasant hours looking at people’s blips, and then an earlyish night.
I had been listening almost all day to the test match cricket (England v Pakistan in Multan) on delay. It’s so peaceful and gentle and made me feel happy
