Shaggy Ink Cap

Like most fungus the Shaggy Ink Cap lasts only a few days from the appearance of a white thumb shape changing to a flat dark grey disc .. reminds me of a Pontefract Cake.

Fouter arrived this afternoon for a week's holiday while Catriona and Tim jet off to Spain tomorrow.
