Kyoto

Left Kanazawa at midday on the Shinkansen to Tsuruga where we changed to the slower Thunderbird service onwards to Kyoto (no puppetry was involved). Our hotel is very close to the station so after a quick transit by foot we checked in and collected our other big suitcase which had been transferred by road. Then a visit to the Kyoto Tower observation deck at 100m which gives a 360 degree view of the Kyoto region. Extras show a Tokaido Shinkansen heading to Osaka and the distant hills that surround the city. After dinner in one of the cafes in Isetan department store the rain had arrived but I grabbed a shot of the illuminated tower. Many thanks for the comments, stars and hearts over the last few days.
