On the way back from the camera club ....
Viewing LARGE on black gives the proper night feel.
This season our camera club has switched it's meetings from a Friday to a Monday evening - and it's been reflected in numbers - we're growing fast, which is fabulous news. Had our first competition of the year tonight, an excellent judge and it went really well.
I'd seen the aurora forecast for the UK before I went, so put my boots in the car along with my camera kit. I was rewarded with a red aurora warning as I left the club, and passing Bassenthwaite Lake on the way home, stopped, and set up. The red in the sky (STEVE) was so intense I could actually see the colour with the naked eye - I've never seen the reds so strong, even on Lofoton.
Always carry a camera!
Strangely, 9 years ago today I had my first ever view of the aurora
