The first lesson

Since Uncle Smithski and Quotidian invested in skateboards I can no longer take the twins to the local skate park and expect them to just run up and down the slopes. So I thought some lessons would be a good idea before they started eating concrete, so it was off to Transgression Park. I can't believe how far they progressed in just a one hour lesson and they had great fun falling over and getting up again. By the end they could make it down a small slope on their own and spin their boards around. The guy here in the shot with Joe is a top bloke and a very patient teacher.

Mrs Smith and Ruby went off in search of footwear whilst the instructor invited me into the park to take some close up shots of the kids learning. It was just as well as one of the other parents went in at the deep end when he saw me get my camera out and we had words. Pretty aggressive words unfortunately and I put my camera away before things escalated. It's sad that parents have to see everyone with a camera as a potential threat. Anyway, the instructor knew who I was and didn't have a problem so invited me to get into the action with my camera and I'm glad I did.

After all that excitement it was off to see Ice Age 3 in 3D and calm down.
