Peaches

A dribble of water came out of the taps this morning so I went to our neighbours J and J to beg for some water and found that J, plumbing engineer extraordinaire, was about to don his coveralls in readiness to have a look at our problem. After a bit of investigation, J worked out what was wrong and had the issue fixed by the time I came back from church. Phew!
This lack of water really made me realise how much I use (and waste) and that I ought to be more appreciative of the fact that I am able (usually) to access clean water at the turn of a tap, unlike many people in the world.
During the afternoon, some friends came for a chat over a cup of tea and homemade whisky brack (tea bread) and the time flew by. As they were leaving, the sun was shining on the little peach tree growing against the gable end of the house and that was my blip for the day sorted. I’ll need to do something with those peaches before the wind blows them all off.
