A day in the life

The front is upon us, heading north.

The forecast told us we were having rain from today and most of the week. Reality told another story. The day has been a lovely late, summers day again but theres heavy dewfall during the night and since the sun no longer reach over the treetops during the day, the grass is all wet. In the late afternoon it was dry enough to use the scythe on some of the long grass in my meadow, it's well over two months since I cut it last and because of the sunny, mild weather it has grown a lot. I threw the cut grass to the cows and they loved being fed that way.

I finished at half past five and went for a walk, by then I could see the cold front crawling slowly over the sky on its way north.
