Leaf It Alone
This is one of the compost corners on our garden area, mainly focused on producing leaf mould. To the left is the new leaf bin with some of the leaves from last year and the year before.
In the background is a 'compost dump' where anything organic can go, then an empty black compost bin, followed by a leaf bin full of undigested leaves from last year, and finally an empty bin ready for this year's leaf fall.
It takes at least two years, but probably three, to make usable leaf mould. It's not an intensive process over that time. We just have to collect lots of leaves, fill the bins, and step back to let time pass. Chill.
