Fungi Island

I went out to post a card today, and was surprised to see that the small traffic island at the bottom of the road was covered in fungi of all kinds. My attention was drawn by this splendid Pestle Puffball.
The bread was not an unmitigated success but I followed the instructions to the letter - I think I know what went wrong so I’ll have another try.
