Smailholm Tower

I went to Smailholm Tower early in the morning, hoping that somehow the sun would be able to break through the thick layer of clouds. Unfortunately, this did not happen. I processed some of the images and was actually playing with sky replacements because I wasn't happy with the shots. It was a fun exercise, but when I looked outside I realized I might actually have a chance of shooting some really dramatic skies and light around sunset. So back I went to the tower and after a bit of waiting the magic happened and the tower was illuminated by the low sunlight with a dramatic sky as a very fitting backdrop. I could not have been happier!
