The cyclamen have been prolific this year. May be because the weather has been damper than usual. They’re all over the village.

Susan tells me they’re called cyclamen hedrifolium. Apparently hedera is the Latin name for ivy and the hedrifolium part is a nod to the ivy shaped leaves of cyclamen.

A meeting with the parish council this morning about the new allotment tenancy agreement followed by a walk passing groves of cyclamen.

At great cost we pruned the pyracantha this afternoon. Lovely warm sunshine. A more relaxing day for me after yesterday’s tribulations on the railway. As people commented, that’s what the safety measures are designed to do.
