This  striking tree is at Leura Fairways where the SMA held their usual long weekend exhibition (MrJ is current treasurer and also exhibits). The flowerheads are a rich maroon and the leaves in almost a fan cluster. I think it's the so-called umbrella tree, but may need to be corrected. Whatever its name, it's a most interesting plant.
